More room for plants

Aromatic cedar, rope, and a new spot by the window.

Documented February 2021From the workshop

Make another spot for plants

The shelves were intended to get plants off the ground and out of the cats' reach. Aromatic cedar and rope kept the construction simple and the wood prominent.

Two standard sizes, room for variation

The original offer listed two sizes: 18 by 10 inches and 21 by 8 inches. Custom dimensions and wood species were also available, with additional cost and lead time. That was a focused product range, not only a single photographed shelf.

Making room for the plants

I built these hanging shelves from aromatic cedar and rope to create another place for plants near the window. The original offer included 18-by-10-inch and 21-by-8-inch versions, along with custom dimensions and wood choices. That meant I was not locked into one shelf size or one exact material list. The basic construction stayed straightforward, while the dimensions and placement could change to fit the room and the customer.
