The aim was to retain the stock spring while adding screw adjustment to its tension. The published design credits stew675 and spooknik for the concept and request; my work was turning that idea into printable parts and sharing the implementation.
This is a modification to an existing machine, not a new printer. The useful change is concentrated in one interface: how the spring load can be adjusted.
The release includes separate housing and pusher geometry, with printing and hardware guidance. I printed the parts in ASA, specified an upright orientation and 0.2 mm layers, and asked other makers to treat the release as a testable work in progress.
The documentation asks for measured feedback rather than a feeling that the machine seems better. Matching belt tension is the practical concern, so the project includes guidance as well as the files.
Once a modification leaves the original machine, its fit has to be understood by someone working with their own printer. The housing, pusher, fasteners, and available adjustment are therefore part of the same communication problem. A useful file is only one part of a useful release.
Other makers posted completed makes and reported their results. One reported a symmetry change from 68.5% to 96.6%; another identified interference near the left-side chute. That clearance report matters alongside the favorable outcomes because it identifies a real installation constraint.
These are individual user reports, not a controlled benchmark or a guarantee for every printer. The linked discussion preserves that context.

Individual outcomes are uncontrolled user reports, not a guarantee of improvement. A separately authored FreeCAD reconstruction concerns an earlier tensioner and was described as untested; it is not validation of this later spring assembly.
