The original brief came from several competing needs: plant-eating cats, a deliberately dry office used for printing, and difficulty maintaining a stable indoor climate through Michigan seasons. I wanted a way to keep a small plant in that setting without treating the room and the plant as though they needed identical conditions.
Printed PETG parts and glass covers created a localized enclosure around the plant. It was my first complete Fusion-model-to-print project, and the original post describes multiple iterations before I was satisfied.
The useful design move was to put the boundary around the small object that needed it. This links the plant problem to the practical work of modeling interfaces and making parts that fit existing covers.
The early account was candid about seeing room for improvement. The finished enclosure in the photographs is therefore a milestone in learning and fabrication, not a claim that the first design solved every growing condition.
This project brings an everyday requirement into the same design process as a replacement fitting or a machine accessory: identify what the existing environment does not provide, make a focused intervention, and revise the geometry after making it.
