Piece / projectOne brief. Two sides.
A commissioned board with a walnut chopping face, a contrasting serving face, and an open-ended visual brief.
Boards & small goods • Series
Patterns, contrasting woods, and a whole batch of boards. Useful objects with room to play.
These hybrid end-grain boards were photographed together after oiling. The different arrangements make a small everyday object into an opportunity to try a different pattern.
The original post caught the batch at the end of finishing, while the remaining cotton rope was still on the way.
The workshop produced more than variations on one pattern. The double-sided commission, the Lawson Twins, and the RV insert each have their own brief and construction details, so they also have individual project pages. This overview is the collection, not another count of those same builds.
