Laying out the pattern
I drew the geometry first, bent the copper into a spiral, and arranged the triangular details around it before the resin pour.
Before the final pour
The process photos show the pencil layout and the partly poured piece. They make it easier to see how the pattern was built before the resin covered it.
Building the pattern before the pour
I started this piece by drawing the geometry, bending the copper into a spiral, and placing the triangular details around it. The resin came after the layout was established. That order is important because the finished pour makes the pattern look like one object, while the process photos show how many separate pieces had to be positioned first. This was an early material experiment, and I kept the construction steps with the finished view.
