A cutting board, refreshed
A customer-owned board came into the shop for refinishing, not a replacement.

Keep the object, renew the surface
A customer brought in this cutting board after it developed a watermark. I removed the existing surface finish through sanding and refinished it with oil and wood butter.
A different kind of making
I did not make the original board. My contribution here is the restoration and finish work.
Keeping a good board in service
This job was about restoring the board the customer already owned. I sanded away the worn surface, brought the wood back to an even condition, and applied oil and wood butter for the final finish. There was no reason to replace a useful board when the material underneath was still worth saving. The before-and-after value of this project is in the surface, not in turning it into something it was never meant to be.
