Found birch slats became a curved, resin-filled tabletop. An experiment in a cleaner, more modern shape.

Start with what is there
A box of short birch slats suggested this tabletop. Arranging the slats into a changing profile made the edge part of the design.
Filling the space between the slats
I arranged the reused birch slats to leave open curves between them, then filled those spaces with resin. The photos show the setup, clamping, and finished tabletop.
Working with the material I had
I started with reused birch slats and worked them into a curved tabletop with resin filling the spaces between them. The slats were already the main character of the piece, so I arranged them before committing to the pour. The process photos show the layout, clamping, and finished surface. This was an experiment in giving salvaged material a cleaner form without hiding where it came from.
