Learning the whole build

I started documenting these aircraft in November 2021 and kept going as the builds became more involved. The later projects included component choices, wiring, assembly, and configuration.

More than assembly

The hardware still had to work with the firmware and configuration. Power, compatibility, wiring, and packaging all mattered once the aircraft moved past the parts-on-a-bench stage.

These July 2022 photos show the component layout and wiring inside the LEGO-themed aircraft. I linked the related build logs below for the full component details.

Learning the whole aircraft

I selected the components, assembled the aircraft, handled the wiring, and worked through the configuration. The LEGO-themed exterior is the part that stands out first, but the exposed photos show the hardware and connections underneath it. These builds taught me that an FPV aircraft is more than a frame with parts attached. Power, compatibility, firmware, layout, and setup all have to agree before the aircraft is ready to fly.

These are historical build records, not current flight or firmware instructions. The March 2022 experiment was unflown when described; a build intended for sale is not evidence of a completed sale. The gallery is from July 2022, not the first aircraft.

PLAYER1 / THE FRAME AND THE BUILD

A shared platform, a very different look.

The LEGO-themed aircraft is a BrockLeeFPV Player1. My July 2022 RotorBuilds post credits BrockLeeFPV for the frame design and WoodChuck FPV for cutting it. The Player1 model collection brings its mounting and protection files together with the other saved setups for this platform.
